How to price an Elam book

Elam may ask for a custom quote on a book which they cannot fill it our themselves on www.silvertoad.co.uk/books, so follow these steps:

1. Go to Elam in the Customer Folder
2. In Elam, go to Digital Book Printing
3. Go to the 1.Pricing folder
4. Click on the ‘Book Costing Sheet_2020’ Excel sheet
5. Fill out the name and qualities of the book in the spreadsheet (if it is a new batch make sure to copy and paste captions and create a new column underneath)
6. Enter the price we have been quoted by the printers into the far right column, called ‘Buy Price’
7. This should automatically fill in the ‘Price’ section by adding 40% onto the buy price
8. Copy and paste the book specifications and send to the customer, making sure not to send them our buy price

Once you have done this, you need to add the pdf’s that we have been sent by the customer into the Elam folder. If it is a new batch, follow this guide:

1. Go into Elam in the Customer Folder
2. Once in Elam, copy the 0. Template Folder and paste it back into the Digital Book Production folder
3. Rename the folder to the name of the batch
4. Click into the new batch folder, and go into the 1. Supplied folder
5. Drag the cover and text pdf’s into the supplied folder

If it is part of an already existing batch, follow this:

1. Go to Elam in the Customer Folder
2. Once in Elam, find the folder for the batch that this book is a part of
3. Click into the batch folder, and go into 1. Supplies
4. Drag the cover and text pdf’s into the supplied folder
