We have a new system which gives Pars & Elam the price and spine sizes for the books without having to wait for us, this can be found here: https://www.silvertoad.co.uk/books/
The way the system works in the following way with the data from the user:
- Enters their Name.
- Enters their Emails.
- Enters the book name (This should match the cover and text name).
- Enters the size of the book, there are currently only 4 standard sizes that they print.
- Enters the number of pages they want, this will need to be a multiple of 4, and if quantity is not a multiple of 4 then it will need increasing to the next multiple of 4. This creates the spine size.
- Enters the quantity of books they require.
- Selects the text and cover paperweights.
- The user will then upload the cover and text file and click ‘Send to Silvertoad’ this will email all of the information over to hello@silvertoad.co.uk.
With Elam, as they normally do batches of multiple books, they will email over a spreadsheet with all of the information and the correct prices and sizes from this system, it’s easier with them doing it this way.
Once we have this, we reverse all of the text files and send back the confirmed prices. There is a separate SOM on this process.
The system is currently built with an HTML for the input fields and data. There is a second JavaScript file to send over the uploaded Cover and Text files to the email: hello@silvertoad.co.uk
