To create a mock-up of a book for the Pars website, follow the guide below:
- Go to T:\WORK\CUSTOMER FOLDERS 2018\Pars\1. Digital Book Production\0. Batch Example\5. Templates
- Open up the ‘Book Mock Up’
- On the right of the editing screen, hover over where it displays the ‘Layers’.
- Find where it shows the layer of the current book on display
- Click on this layer, and when the preview box is highlighted, a small box should appear inside the highlighted preview box
- Select this smaller box, which should open another tab in the header
- Go to this tab, which should display the book already on the previous tab in a flat form
- Then go back to the Pars Customer Folder, and find the folder with the current book in production
- Go to the books ‘1. Supplied’ folder
- Drag the supplied cover into photoshop and on-top of the current book cover that is there (make sure you are on the flat displaying tab)
- Press ‘OK’ on the window that pops up
- This should then allow the new cover that you dragged in to pop up and you should see it over the current book cover
- Make sure to not include the spine in the fit
- Size the front cover of the new book to fit perfectly in the space, the back cover and spine will be off the page which it should be
- Once you have completed this, hit ‘Enter’ to place and ‘Ctrl+S’ to save and apply it
- Go back onto the original tab, where you should now see the new cover displaying as the mock-up
- If you need to adjust the fit, just go back onto the flat displaying tab and hit ‘Ctrl+T’ to allow you to edit
- When you are happy, press ‘Enter’ and ‘Ctrl+S’ again
- Repeat until you are satisfied with the mock-up
- Save, and there you have it!
