Finding Keywords for SEO

  1. Create a list of the Products or Services the site offers.
  2. Of these, choose ones that are most important / the customer wants to focus on.
  3. Our SEO packages are either in 5 or 10 keyword increments. Reduce or expand this list to reach the ideal number.
  4. Add to the end of the keywords the locality / service areas of the company
  5. Use Rank Tracker (on the SEO Laptop), to enter the target keywords.
  6. In rank tracker, you’ll see a list of how your selected keywords will perform at present for the site, and the search volume. The search volume should be in excess of 10 searches a month.
  7. In rank tracker, click Keyword Research. Use the keyword gap tool to find the keywords that competitors are targeting and ranking for, and use this to adapt your keyword list where appropriate.
  8. Once you’re happy with your keywords, and are setting them up as a campaign (See separate SOM for this), enter them into Boost366 and ensure they’re “Strong” keywords.
  9. Keywords will move up and down, but the aim is to have them increase in visibility for the site over the long term period. If keywords aren’t performing, check them 3 months later. If they’re still not performing, it’d be worth changing them.
