Setting up WooCommerce in WordPress
- Go to the back end of your site
- Navigate to plugins
- Click Add New
- Search for WooCommerce
- It should be the first result, which is by Automattic
- Click Install Now
- Once its installed click Activate
- You’ll then be taken to the store setup wizard page
- On Store Setup, insert the details for the store you are setting up. Remember to select whether you will sell physical and/or digital products.
- Click continue
- In payment, select the payment methods you will accept. Additional payment methods can be installed later if you need them.
- Click continue
- In Shipping, select which countries you will ship to and with what methods, and flat rate costs.
- Click continue
- In extras, you can set automated taxes, though this is not compulsory.
- You can connect your store to Jetpack if you wish, this will allow insights, better security but ask the account manager/Keir if this is required.
- It’ll then take you to the ready to activate page. From here you can add an email address, start creating or importing products, or return to your dashboard.
